Soft opening definition: Soft openings are primarily used to test operations, gather feedback, and train staff in a real-world setting before the grand opening. Please be bear this in mind when visiting us.

Introducing a new artisan bakery in South Somerset – a dream that began during the 2020 lockdown. As part of our Boar at Home offering from the Barrington Boar, we started selling freshly baked goods, including our much-loved sourdough loaves. These loaves had always been a favourite at the pub, but during lockdown, their popularity soared. Demand quickly outstripped supply, and once restrictions lifted, we were repeatedly asked about offering our bread for retail and wholesale - a request that couldn’t be fulfilled in our pub kitchen.

When the Two Bakers Farm property, next door to the pub, became available, we had a lightbulb moment—why not create a space where guests could stay, where we could grow produce for the pub, and where we could build a bakery in the old cider barn to serve the local community with exceptional, high-quality bread?

Two years and a lot of hard work later, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re finally ready to open our doors. We’ll be offering loaves, pastries, cakes, and other delicious treats to enjoy at home.
