The Barrington Boar is an award-winning restaurant & pub with rooms, offering refined Modern British dining in the heart of the South Somerset countryside.

We feature in the 2024 Top 50 Gastropubs List (#35), MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2024, Harden’s Guide & Trencherman’s Guide.

Our restaurant focuses its menu on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from the farmers, foragers, brewers & cheese-makers living within a few miles of the restaurant.  Our bar focuses its drinks menu on South West produce, with a selection of local ales & ciders on tap, craft beers, local gins & English sparkling wine.

We recommend booking to join us for lunch or dinner around a week ahead. We are mostly busy on a Saturday evening & Sunday lunch but it is always worth trying if you have only just arrived. We are in the same village as The National Trust property Barrington Court which is just 1/2 mile away. Feel free to park in our car park and stroll down to Barrington Court through our beautiful village, if you are joining us for lunch or dinner. We have some local walks around our village that came be found here if you need to stretch your legs before or after dining with us.

If you are joining us from a local holiday home or B&B don’t forget to mention where you are staying so we can welcome you with a complimentary glass of Somerset Sparkling wine, a Somerset Cider Brandy aperitif or local ale - a non-alcoholic option is available.
