Husband & wife team Alasdair Clifford & Victoria Collins took over the reins of The Barrington Boar in June 2018 & have created a restaurant & pub that is both casual & contemporary. The kitchen is run by Alasdair who grew up locally & has over ten years experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants including Chez Bruce & The Glasshouse.
The Barrington Boar features in the 2024 Top 50 Gastropubs (#35), the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2025, The Good Food Guide, Harden’s Guide & Trencherman’s Guide and very proudly The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2024 and 100 Best Pubs 2025.
The restaurant menu focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from the farmers, foragers, brewers & cheesemongers living within a few miles of Barrington. The pub is also fully stocked with South West produce with a selection of local ales, ciders & craft beers on tap, local gins & English sparkling wines.
Our accommodation offering comprises of seven bed & breakfast rooms either located next door at Two Bakers Farm or in a converted skittle alley overlooking the garden as well as two studio self catering apartments. In keeping with the ethos of the restaurant, breakfast is bursting with local produce whilst the en-suite rooms are stocked with items from local independent producers.
